And if he was would it really matter Billy? Can't see Leeds shelling out buckets for the lad - not if Yeovil were only offering £30k to sign him. Might even be the gambler in Ken Bates coming out - he gambled on ticket prices - but looks like he won as finances are stable. This might be his trick for the pitch!

Woo, Beckford scores his first goal for Leeds against Birmingham City in the reserves last night! Fantastic news!! This guy is gonna be special, I can feel it!
Hopefully now, Blackwell will make some changes. I'd like to see Beckford start on Saturday, along side Blake. Healy and Hulse just aren't doing the business at the moment, so it's time to make changes. Here's my ideal line up for the Hull game:
Sully Kelly, Butler, Gregan, Crainey Griffiths (better than Lewis for the 15 minutes I saw on Saturday), Miller, Derry, Douglas Beckford, Blake
Subs: Bennet, Killa, Healy, Bakke, Lewis
(Tough call whether to name Hulse or Healy on the bench, as Hulse has been playing better than Healy recently. However, Healy can often totally change games when coming on as a sub, whereas Hulse would just offer fresh legs.) I would name two midfielders on the bench rather than two strikers, due to the fact it has been our midfield that has lacked creativity and the creation of chances for the strikers and this would give more options.)

Here's the article regarding Beckfords first goal:
First For Beckford
Jermaine Beckford scored the first goal of his Leeds United career as the reserves romped to a 2-0 win over Birmingham City.
Playing only his second reserve game, Beckford found the net just before half-time with a 25-yard drive after earlier missing an easier chance to score with a header.
Leeds had their strongest reserve team of the season out and were always comfortably in control of the game, which had a delayed start after the United team bus was held up on the motorway following a crash that extended their journey time to nearly four hours.
Danny Pugh secured the win just before the end with a second goal, an exellent left-footed strike from 20-yards.
Manager Martin Hodge was delighted with the performance: "We had a strong side out and they had four players with Premiership experience, but we are still talking about youngsters like Frazer Richardson, Simon Walton and Dan Harding, not old or experienced boys.
"As the game went on we got stronger and started to play some very good stuff. We were too strong for them and 2-0 was a fair result.
"I am relatively pleased because it keeps our run going and we have shown that defensively whoever plays, senior pro's or kids, we are always quite solid."
Matthew Kilgallon and Frazer Richardson both completed 90 minutes as they look to build up their match fitness.
The reserves are in action again on Thursday evening against Blackburn Rovers away.
Leeds: Bennett, Richardson, Harding, Gray, Kilgallon, Walton, Griffiths, Bakke, Beckford, Graham, Pugh. Subs: Howson, Wilberforce, Bayly, Hird, Parker.
