Today for me was the final nail in Rob Kelly's coffin, and it seems I'm not the only one, as thousands of fans (those who were left) were calling for his head throughout the second half.
We were abysmal today, our home record is appalling - only 6 wins all season. We're only 7 points clear of relegation and with our remaining fixtures being Stoke, Derby, Plymouth, Norwich, Birmingham, Preston, Barnsley and Wolves I can only see our situation getting a hell of a lot worse.
The passion of the players is a direct reflection of what has been instilled into them by the manager, today there was nothing. There was no fight, no commitment, no hunger and no quality. A lack of quality can be forgiven, but the other three are unforgivable in my opinion, how dare anyone who's wages get paid by people spending their hard earned cash going to watch and support them not give two flying fucks about how they perform. There were 3 players today who could leave that pitch with some kind of professional pride, the others can fuck off and shut the door behind them.
Why on Earth persist with playing Jarrett, Hughes and Horsfield who are each as lightweight and shit as each other? We never even look like competing in the midfield with Hughes and Jarrett in there, I'd much rather Rob shook things up a bit and played Andy King and Wesolowski who are both young a hell of a lot more talented that Hughes and Jarrett.
Horsfield can fuck off back to Sheffield United - he's the biggest (quite literally) waste of space in the team. I'd even rather Elvis Hammond played instead of him, and for those of you who know my attitude to Elvis Hammond you know that's a bit of a sweeping statement to make!
Maybury's another one who can get the fuck out of my football club, utterly clueless.
The club needs a good clear out from top to bottom, the only people I'd keep from the current lot are the youth team and coaches, Conrad Logan, Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley and Iain Hume. That's only 4 of the current first team squad who I believe are good enough for Leicester City, the rest would be put to shame by a League Two side.
The last few weeks we've had a real chance to gather some momentum to take into next season, with games against Southend, Leeds and QPR - all in the bottom 3 at the time we faced them. And we got a meagre 2 points from the 3 games which is a shocking return. With all due respect, we should be beating teams like that with ease but our inconsistency means that we can never gather enough momentum to look like distancing ourselves from danger.
I really don't envy the task Milan Mandaric has, but I look forward to seeing how he approaches it - I know he'll be ruthless, it's just a case of how much rebuilding he thinks needs doing and how much he can afford to do.
To be honest, I'm glad we've a two week break now, it gives the players time to take a long hard look at themselves and ask if they're fit to wear the shirt. If there's not an improvement for when we play Stoke away I will seriously contemplate going to any other games this season, I am that sick of watching the shite we produce every week.
