There wasn't i'm afraid, the winners were worthy.. That's just it, my granddad took us (he's a Leicester fan) so we sat in the home end, I almost got chucked out when Fowler scored ;d Lol well it's true the home end was shabby as well Did you sit in the double decker? The whole stadium was Dunno, it was the upper south stand.. upper suggests it might've been lol!

This thread is not turning out how intended, although it seems every bugger else has fond memories of Filbo as well as me! In all honesty, the amount of people whio sing is probably the same, but at Filbert St. they were crammed into a small Kop, under a low roof and the sound gets amplified (same as at The BBG) - thats what helped the atmosphere - now (like Pride Park) there isnt a specified 'KOP' and the singing disappears into thin air! Derby are going to be moving the away end at PP to create a KOP end for the singers to go in, which will help matters - maybe Leicester should do the same! 100% agree, i think most new stadia destroy atmosphere, the old style grounds had lots of people crammed into a small space where most people knew each other... now theyve moved stadia they're all in different parts of the ground. take my club (reading) for example, those old enough to remember elm park always say how good the atmosphere was, everyone right up to the touch line singing and shouting from the tilehurst end for the full 90+ now at the madejski everyone sits all over the place, away from the pitch in a wide open stadia.(they even moved a large part of the y25 (the singers) to the other side of the ground to ''minimalise abusive behavious'' ) i dont think its a question of fans passion dying (altho with lester it might be ) its the new grounds.. take pompey for example, still in a shit hole of an old ground but everyone says how great they sound.. id put money on the fact they wouldnt sound so great in a new stadium!!

Thing is as you've already said Clo, its just bricks and mortar. Southampton have exactly the same stadium as us and yet when we went there last week the atmosphere was awesome and we were competely outsung (and played ). There have been matches at the Walkers where there has been a decent atmosphere - Villa, Spurs, 4-1 v Millwall, games against Forest, Leeds, Derby etc etc. I was listening to the Fulham match on the radio and we sounded pretty loud (much more so than them) and I was surprised there was only 15-16k there. The atmospheres been dismal for a while but its not the stadium (even if it might not help). V Sunderland I was at the kop end of the west stand and the reason you could hear all the Sunderland fans was because hardly any bloody person was singing anything. 10% of the kop if that. People just need to stick a rocket up their ass and get behind them more. The footie has been poor for so long that no-one seems to give a toss anymore - even the voices of discontent v Saints and Sunderland were very subdued. Good football, decent signings, the right results, and shifting the fans around a bit will help but at the end of the day the fans have just got to do more.

The atmosphere yesterday was really good in the second half - and it boils down to one thing imo
Players are passionate they get the same reaction from the crowd.
