Shambolic is the only word I can think of right now, and that describes every single element of our football club from management to the board to the Birch to the pies and pie sellers. We are a joke, an absolute embarrassment.
I've talked of Kelly giving us a handicap before but the first responsibility of a manager is to play a team which is fit.
We used Kenton, Wesolowski, O'Grady, and Cadamarteri who were all clearly unfit - Williams was probably struggling too - and no team can cope with that sort of handicap.
Sunderland looked to me as if they've made all the progress these last few months that we should have been making.
They used the full width of the park and, when they won possession, attacked in numbers and with pace and intent. They clearly targetted our left back and cut through Kenton like a knife through butter.
Times they had six and seven men in and around the box meaning they were able to sustain attacks whereas we would be lucky to have 3 in attack.
Where was our width? Where was our movement? Where were the runs off the ball which Sunderland demonstrated all day? Where was the support and determined running into the box? Where was the passion, commitment and desire? Where was the professional pride?
There was simply no excuse for that performance, we were a disgrace from start to finish. It wouldn't surprise me if most of the players had been on the piss the night before to be honest.
Two games without a single shot on target says it all, Kelly must go and go quickly.
Player ratings:
Henderson 7 - Some really world class saves but his distribution is woeful and he was totally to blame for the second goal. He made the initial save and then handed it to Connolly on a plate. I still have no confidence in him whatsoever.
Stearman 4 - No different to any other game this season, nowhere near hitting his full potential - his mind looks to be elsewhere and if it is then he can fuck off, at least we might get a bit of money for him.
Kenton 2 - Absolutely awful to the point of disbelief. Any defender with even half a brain cell would know which is their man to pick up, but not Mr Kenton, countless times he drifted in to double up on Kisnorbo's man when there was clearly no need. Exploited fully by Sunderland and they created numerous chances from Kenton's sheer inability to do anything.
McCarthy 4 - He should be nowhere near this team, is by far and away our worst centre-back and McAuley being dropped in favour of this donkey is a travesty. Kelly has been itching to get him back in the team and he got the perfect time to do it what with a 2-0 defeat 48 hours prior to today at Southampton. Well Rob, I hope today has proved to you that McCarthy is a disgrace and the first two names on the team sheet should be Kisnorbo and McAuley without fail. It's an embarrassment that he is our club captain
Kisnorbo 5 - Not good at all today, missed too many headers and looked shaky without his trusty partner McAuley but was still a million miles better than Captain calamity McCarthy.
Hughes 6 - Our best outfield player but still a performance not worthy of the jersey. He is wasted on the right wing and bottles challenge after challenge and gets pushed off the ball all too easily.
Williams 4 - The real Gareth is back I'm afraid lazy bastard with passes over hit and tackles that wouldn't look out of place in a ballet.
Wesolowski 3 - Not his fault but he clearly is not match fit, much of the game passed him by and was too negative with passing. Lacked the bite and character that we've come to expect.
Porter 4 - If we have to put up with for 3 and a half more years then God help us. Left Kenton far too exposed and his delivery for set pieces was atrocious - failed to beat the first man too many times and no variation whatsoever.
Fryatt 5 - He worked so so hard but nothing is going right for him. I really hope he scores to turn his fortunes around because he wears his heart on his sleeve and is trying desperately hard to get a goal to get his confidence back up. Missed a guilt-edged chance that typifies the retched time he's having at the moment.
O'Grady 3 - Do us all a favour and fuck off please. He may even be worse than Elvis Hammond. A disgrace to the profession, let alone our team.
Hume 5 - The only one who looked like changing things, set up Fryatt beautifully and hopefully the 60 minutes or so rest will be beneficial to the little man.
Cadamarteri 3 - Oh dear me. Doesn't even look fit, looks like he's been at the same eating school at Rab Douglas and Fatty Fryatt and was really not very good.
Rob Kelly has got to go - dropping McAuley and Johannson (two of our better defenders) and not even including them in the 16 shows just how naive he is. I can't believe how vulnerable we looked without them and to make 6 changes for a game against a team like Sunderland highlights to me just how bad a manager the guy is. In a recent thread I was undecided on my stance about Kelly as the manager but now, after too many pounds and hours wasted to watch the shite served up in the last 2 games I have no doubts that I want him out, and the sooner the better.
I want my Leicester back!
