Can any understand Blackwell's logic? It's hardly that clubs are going to be queuing up to appoint him. He's got a mediocre management record so far, and has shown himself in a bad light here. Clubs in the top two divisions are not going to be interested, and now chairman of clubs under financial strain are going to think twice about whether he has the character to run their club. As for motivational skills? Well, the backs to the wall mentality often provides more motivation than a manager ever can. Look at Leeds; not one sign of a blip until we move into the top six, and then the players relax. Without the ability to bring in new blood I would have had my doubts that Wise could take Leeds up after recent performances. You could do with getting a strong personality in now, one with the ability to galvanise what's left of your squad.

Well unless the new buyers come in quick, no one is going to want to go there. Afterall they're not going to get paid.
Brko has only recieved two weeks wages whilst being on loan to us, dispite us paying Luton! Then again you can't blame Luton it's the creditors

I do agree with Trav though, it would have shown strength of character to stay. Unless he knows something unpleasant..................

True but how can they get anyone in ? are they not allowed to sign anyone at all ? ? The administrators have a mandate to protect the investments of the interested parties. If there is no suitable candidate within the club to manage it, then bearing in mind the club's precarious position it would be remiss not to try and ensure that the club remain in League One. After all, the likely league status of the club next will affect the size of any offers tabled for the club.

I do agree with Trav though, it would have shown strength of character to stay. Unless he knows something unpleasant.................. Well Blackwell had a decent first season at Leeds when he was firefighting, but had the help of Ade Boothroyd then, the play-off season was aided by a raft of big signings and a huge amount of luck. I believe staying would have been as much in his interests as it would be Luton's. For me he's proved very little. If he's desserted, then he doesn't deserve another chance elsewhere.

Frankly Leeds deserved their punishment and this has been proved by their activities in the transfer market! Bates had a war chest somewhere. Thats bollocks, Hurls you sound like you know nothing of the situation at Leeds. Luton are still yet to be punished for the 60 charges against them but personally I hope they don't recieve that punishment because of how bad a shape they are in. Despite what we've been through and all the sympathy we get from fans like you I wouldn't want anyone else to go what we've been through. Luton is different but it's really serious at the moment just as it was for us in the summer, best of luck to them.

Neko, you have my sympathies, and I hope it all turns out good for you. We were fortunate in administration, because although it was a huge struggle and we struggled to get any money together, because the team were quite good, the administrators, Deloitte, realised our best chance of surviving was promotion so they didn't sell all of our players, and it all worked out ok in the end. I really do fear for you guys though, just hope that the Liverpool game gives you the funds you need to survive in the short term til a buyer comes in. I'm not sure the difference in funding between L1 and L2 is all that much, but it might be when you are struggling as much as you are. Good luck mate!

By the way Hurls to clear up your misconception that there's been something dodgy going on in regards to the fact we've spent a little in the transfer market. We have quite a lot of our own money to spend now because we are working at a profit, regular attendances of 28,000 and 29,000 brings in a lot of money as well as the fact our home replica shirt this season was the fastest selling ever. We've spent less than £1,000,000 I'm almost certain of that, if you look carefully most of the players we've signed this season have been free or just on loan.

I fully understand Blackwells decision - he gets an agreement in place when he signs about money etc etc then finds out the club was mis-managed by criminals and the club is skint - he gets no pay, but manages to have a half sensible side who get themsleves a money spinning replay at Anfield - he supposedly gets an agreement that the squad will remain intact for the next week or so then the administrators sell 3 of his players and accept offers for countless more!!
He's been well & truly shafted in all honesty and i feel sorry for the bloke - its his livelihood FFS!
He's only agreed to stay on because him leaving would now would leave them without any staff!

I can understand Blackwell's position, but it does leave a bitter taste, as I said in a couple of earlier posts. He claims to be a lifetime fan, and he's walking out in our hour of need. Right now, he is the only person who could offer any sense of stability at the club, and he's taking that out from under us. We'll have a preferred bidder and money in the club next week, FFS - is it so hard to stick around and see what they have to offer? As much as I respect him for what he's done for us (getting the team to play like that couldn't have been easy), I'm ultimately disappointed in his decision. How could any "fan" leave the club at a time like this, without being pushed out kicking and screaming like Coyne was?

I think he's doing right by the club to be honest, especially a club that have taken all transfers out of his hands and left him fielding youth team players!
