So what was all this crap about them not wanting him to talk to us about the managers job because they wanted to negotiate new contracts with him???
Glad they didn't let him to talk to us though!

Looks like you read the script correctly on that one RJ! The vast majority of football club chairmen are fickle. Since losing the play-off final to Ipswich in May 2000 we have lurched from one disaster to another. Had four different boards in that time once again the manager carries the can. Ritchie got us up last season against the odds and this is how the board have repaid him. I wish him well. The chairman and his cronies on the board can go to hell!

Well plenty will no doubt throw the proverbial hat into the ring. Might as well give it to Toby Tyke.

Kevin Blackwell's Red Army! You never know. But what do chairmen know about appointing managers ? Fook all really! Its a complete disgrace what they have done to that guy. I bet he feels completely used in a way. I guess the general concencous is anger and frustration at this. Whats a new gaffer gonna do to keep you up that Ritchie couldn't?

Bad move that..and i feel really sorry for him! He's been hung out to dry by a board that wouldnt give him any financial backing, and then wonders why you aint winning games! A sad day for your club, and i hope Mr Ritchie finds a new club soon!

From a purely selfish view, I hope that new manager syndrome doesn't kick in and improve your results. But if we can pull away from the bottom, I hope you can stay up as well

It hasn't worked at Macclesfield ;D We are doomed , the board are charlatans. And once again the fans are taking it right up the shitter! I hope all Yorkshire clubs do well and especially Leeds

The players were giving their all for Ritchie and Holden. The fact is we were punching above our weight. no strength in depth. What could Ritchie do? play some untried youngster?

Shocking decision in my view, he's the best thing you've had for years.
Something dodgy going on if you ask me!

Yes, but they got Paul Ince!!! Totally agree that would love all the Yorkshire teams to stay up but sadly I reckon it'll be at least 2 of them going down From a purely selfish view, I hope that new manager syndrome doesn't kick in and improve your results. Barnsley midfielder Brian Howard believes the board were too hasty in parting with manager Andy Ritchie. Ritchie was dismissed on Tuesday, six months after he led the Tykes to promotion to the Championship.
Howard told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I think we could have stayed up. We only needed to tweak a few things, we are still a good group of players.
"It has only gone wrong in the last five games that we haven't competed against the so-called bigger teams."
Well said Brian
