Agreed with all your comments. From a nuetral point of veiw it could be classed as a decent encounter and with both our defencive records goals were always on the cards. My prediction of 3-3 was not far away and obviously I am pleased with the win but I feel both sides are papering over the cracks and it will be a long hard winter. As for our fans well you are right we are always better away than at home and your vociferous support deserved better.
See you all on 02/12/06 at your place.

Fair play to you, you should be pleased i mean had we won we'd probably be shouting from the rooftops tbh but hey, you turned it on in the second half after being bossed in the first. Maybe a draw was fair but the goal that won the game was a peach. Hopefully we will give you a proper going over at ours and not lay down and die. Here's to then.....i'm soooo looking forward to it...

My match report:
The match:-
Overall I think Leeds had the better of the first half, we were certainly the better team for the opening 30 mins, we seemed to have more of the ball, but ran out of ideas once we got into Barnsley's half (same old story). Barnsley however were looking very dangerous on the attack, particularly against our very poor defence. For Barnsley's first goal, a cross came across, Stack flapped, instead, of catching it, or at the very least punching it, which effectivley gave them a goal. It dropped to a Barnsley player who wasn't closed down well enough, and he smashed it in. Leeds responded well to this, and to my amazement, actually played some excellent passing football, Blake and Healy were both excellent and seemed to 'click', with each other, and we really tested the Barnsley defence, who sloppily let Derry head in a free header (his first goal in 63 games). After thsi a re-invigorated Leeds side continued to play some great football. Lewis managed to beat his man (although he did handball it) and pick out Blake at the front-post, who was not closed down quick enough, and he smashed it in. At this point the Leeds fans were going 'fucking mental', and the stand was literally rocking! We were looking very comfortable at this point, which perhaps lured the players into a false sense of security. ...But then the ref had to spoil it all and blow the whistle. God knows what was said to the two teams at half time, but Barnsley came out and they were clearly up for it, and they proceeded to dominate the game. Leeds didn't look interested, and I can only presume it was because they though it was in the bag. They were very lazy, and Barnsley took advantage of this to put two more past us, which was mainly down to our defence and midfield not shutting down quick enough, they gave barnsley too much time, and they punished us twice. It was all down hill from here for Leeds, and Barnsley kept pressing, and came close on several occasions, even hitting the post. By the time Leeds woke up again, it was too late, we had a few late chances, but it was too little, too late. Barnsley then started taking the piss out of Leeds down by Leeds the dead ball line, this provoked no reaction from the Leeds players, this went on for a good five minutes, we kept conceding throw-in after throw-in, and still there was no reaction, I think this accuratley sums up our players comitment, and desire, they obviously didn't give a shit. Well played to barnsley though, they played for 90 mins, we played for 45mins, they deserved the win. Overall a good and entertaining game.
The fans- A good turnout for Barnsleys highest attendance of the season (16000), 4000 of which were Leeds fans, who were in good voice, and represented the club well. I was quite dissapointed with the atmosphere created by the home fans, particularly as it was a Yorkshire derby. The tunnel to the players changing rooms was just next to the away fans, and after the game Wisey and Gus went past and were cheered and clapped by the fans, the players who followed, were sworn at and booed, so lets hope they get the message and put some effort in on Saturday.
Player ratings-
Stack- 5, gave a goal away by flapping but was otherwise alright.
Kelly- 6,he was generally good but he did nothing of note, and slowed down considerably towards the end of the game!
Butler-6, he played reasonably well, but as one of our CB's he should have shut down quicker to stop the Barnsley goals. He should also try and play more on the floor than aerial balls.
Killa- 5, not a good game for him. he was very sloppy with his passing, and just didn't look confident, he made a lot of mistakes.
Lewis- 6, partly responsible for their first goal, but was generally solid, he got forward to support attacks, I still think he's too lightweight though.
Douglas- 7, thought he put some good effort in, and it was a much improved performance, he won the ball well, passed well, and made some good forward runs. Although he also could have prevented 2 Barnsley goals if he'd have closed down quick enough.
Derry-7, He was quite average, he didn't make enough tackles. However he passed well, and he scored.
Westlake- 4, why was he even on the pitch? johnson has already proved he is a better player. Utter crap.
Blake- 8, my man of the match, he played some excellent passes, linked well with Healy to play some great football, he was creative, he had the best run of the game taking it past quite a few players, and he scored. Thank fuck for Robbie Blake!
Healy- 8, his pest perfomance for ages, he looked like he actually wanted to play for us! Same plus points for him as super robbie.
Horsefield- 5, did nothing notable throughout the entire game.
Johnson- 7, looked good when he came on, and should have equalised late on.
Cresswell- 5, still not fit, and added nothing to the game from our point of view.
Einarson- came on too late to do anything. He ran about a bit and that was it.
The referee- 7 overall pretty decent, but a bit pedantic.

Leeds are going to spank you! ...this is a really important match for both teams, if we win this it could give us a chance of a decent position, if Barnsley win it could give them a good chance of survival. I'm confident Wisse can get us a win, and he better do because I'm going! Should be a great atmosphere and match, like all yorkshire derbies! Oh dear
