Bugger, read this. Premiership side Charlton Athletic have taken an interest in Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Romian Larrieu.
Scouts from several Premiership clubs have been present at Plymouth's recent games watching the French shot stopper in action. Larrieu has been in good form all season and kept a number of clean sheets to help Plymouth reach the safety of mid table. Sources say that Charlton have been impressed and Larrieu has now become Charlton's number one target and will look to follow up their interest in the summer when the transfer window opens once again.
Charlton are short of goalkeeping cover after allowing Dean Kiely to join Portsmouth during the January transfer window, Thomas Myhre has been between the sticks since then but only has a contract until this summer and is not expected to be offered a new deal. That would leave just Danish international Stephan Andersen as the only keeper at Charlton with any real experience.
Larrieu has been an important member of the Plymouth team for the last five years, winning two Championship medals when Plymouth won the Division 2 and 3 titles and keeping a record 27 clean sheets in one season. The 29-year old Frenchman has a contract at Plymouth until June 2008.
If they offer and he wants to go, I don't think the club will stop him. Be ashame though.

Argyle players know what happens.
Stay at Home Park and have a chance at playing? Or move to a bigger club and be an understudy.

Larrieu is one of those players who we were amazingly lucky to get. And I still don't think we have seen his best.
Feel kind of sorry for Luke though, an excellent keeper himself. Shame we cant play two in goal.

Larrieu has definitely improved over this season and has kept us in the game a few times already. Lovely accent too!

I cant see him going. Being the optimist again, what we do need to remeber is that if he does go we still have another top class keeper on the bench at the moment.. If he does go good luck to him but he has had a good run with us and the money would be good and substatial.

I agree with neil i cant see him leaving here, his family are settled in the area, he is settled in the area and has said that he wants to be the man between the sticks at home park for years to come. i also agree with Mr Dragon we have not sen Larrieu at his best i think next season he will show is true potential the injury cut him back but he is at a great level and can only improve i have also heard that argyle have him valued at 1.5million which maybe too much for the board to turn down

He is in contract until 2008 he has stayed with us through some great times and that will make his loyalties lie with us. Pulis will not want him to go and at the moment the board agree with pulis. I think 1.5 is not enough the board will want a better offer than that to break the contract and him to leave early. He will stay with us for the next season at least. we are a club going places and he will want to stay and be a part of it. KIG

I just hope we can keep hold of Luke as well.
With a bit of luck and a couple of signings, next year tiredness will not kill our away form so much.

We still need something thought don't we. Mind you I don't think we have struggled for survival so much this season, still a few games to go, but hopefully 3 points on Saturday and near enough safe

We seem to be attracting attention from quite a few clubs in some of our players!! Quite flattering in a way... One player i think we will not hang on to is Doumbe! Lets hope Larrieu keeps it green, keeps putting great performances out there every game. May he stop Cardiff tomorrow aswell!! ;D

We can still hope that Doumbe likes working with Larrieu so much he stays. Unless they both go to Charlton...
Its hard enough trying to find just the one defender, now two? Unless Paul W steps into defence semi-permenantly.
The funny thing is, I think I sat next to the Charlton scout while at the Sheffield game. Should have put him off.

Quite a few clubs interested, I imagine. Aren't Charlton in the Premiership?

On the plus side, IF Larrieu goes and we get a pile of cash for it, we have a bloody good understudy who has the potential to be even better.

very good point Pastie, but i can't see us getting more than £500,000 for him tho If we want decent money, Akos is the one to sell.

For the number of times he has played since Janaury, I thought he HAD sold him.

If anybody wanted Akos for half a mill I'd let him go like a shot.
