Leeds have today completed the signing of Michael Brown www.leedsunited.com/news/20110711/brown-signs-up-for-united_2247585_239046034, out of contract journeyman whose best days are surely behind him. Oh and we got him on a free as well... One for the future there folks I don't know why I'm surprised though - hasn't this been Leeds's transfer policy for the last couple of seasons?

I don't know why you're surprised either Billy, that old scrotum bag (our illustrious owner) doesn't want promotion until he doesn't have to repay the club's debts. If that is the extent of our ambition I don't think I'll bother paying for LUTV any more. What's required is for the paying customers to shut off his cash stream. An empty Elland Road for a few games might be enough to concentrate his mind.

I would hope that blow could be softened by the mental image of Bates' face when he realises he might have to use his own money for his hotel and executive boxes that no one uses. BTW, you wouldn't by any chance be a certain Officer Groyman on the wind up...............AGAIN ;D ;D ;D

This "Officer Groyman" chap must have been some sort of a legend on here.

could you really turn off the leeds !!!!!!!! I'm seriously thinking about it, assisted by a lack of funds at the moment. Last 3 years I've just paid for it monthly and not been too bothered about paying the extra, but seeing us embark on an important season and Bates still not dipping into the not insignificant amounts of cash Leeds fans are paying for league 1 and championship football, I'm pissed off enough to say enough is enough. At least I'll be able to see the 1st game on sky and take it from there.

After the revolution however, Mancs , Chelski, Gooners and Scousers will be rounded up and transported to Elland Road where they will be transformed into true believers in the beautiful game Ken Bates style ie Pay up and shut up.

Jamie.....Dont be put off..its all about the club not the Chairman or Manger, its the institution thats Leeds United Football club, so we have not spent millions, we have not sold our best players, Max didnt go to West Ham...remember a certain Gordan Strachan came to Leeds at the end of his career, and helped us become a great team..IT COULD HAPPEN again..Support the team through Thick and Thin always...SKY Sports messed up the modern game in my view..support the team...it will be around longer than any player or chairman..MOT...your part of the crew on a match day, tune in and dont drop out..all the best mate

Matteo on Brown: And when all’s said and done, Brown is the essence of a Premier League footballer. It’s a while since we were able to say that about a Leeds United signing. We’ve seen loanees from Premier League clubs sent to Elland Road – most of them very young – but Brown is a midfielder who’s been there and done it with various different clubs.
Leeds United: Hardman Brown’s just perfect for captaincy - Matteo

In all fairness, he was unlikely to say "Oh crap, he's league 2 at best, I don't know what we were thinking - I need a stiff drink and a lie-down"

I will grab any opportunity to watch/listen to our games and it isn't anything to do with the latest signing being fit or not fit for purpose. I just hate seeing our club being squeezed dry by that grasping old skunk. And while the bit about being strapped for cash isn't too far off the mark, 606 is still free and I'll be following the games on here.
