And to think a certain team has spent the last 2 years complaining about abuses to the transfer system! ...... what we're doing is perfectly legal though!! .......... and he'll probably turn out to be shit anyway!! ;D

Err I thought the transfer window had shut? He's coming in on 'emergency loan' until the January transfer window opens, at which point we'll stump up the cash!! I don't understand this emergency loan business. Teams just use it as an extension to the loan window, and then usually tack on an option to buy clause as well ....... so effectively it's a transfer!! FFS you've got most of your team playing and we've got about 15 fit players in our squad!

FFS you've got most of your team playing and we've got about 15 fit players in our squad! ..... but you have no money!! After our start I think it was painfully obvious we needed to shuffle our pack. I think Tonge going was a good move and the news Gillespie is on his way as well is another reason to be cheerfull. Now if we can just bin Montgomery, we'll have gone a long way towards trimming the dead wood out of our midfield!!

Tykes confirm Howard departure
Barnsley skipper Brian Howard is hoping to complete his move to Sheffield United after the Tykes officially confirmed he can leave Oakwell.
The midfielder, who wanted to leave at the end of last season, is expected to sign for the Blades initially on loan, with a view to a reported £600,000 deal being completed during the January transfer window.
A Barnsley statement read: "The club has been prepared at all times to offer new contract terms to Brian to keep him with the Reds, but his representatives have declined that opportunity.
"On Monday (September 22), the board of Barnsley FC met with Brian Howard and his representatives. Patrick Cryne and manager Simon Davey were also in attendance.
"Brian confirmed directly to the parties present that he wished to leave the club and did not wish to discuss a new contract with the Reds.
"As a consequence the board resolved that, in the interests of all parties, Brian Howard would be allowed to leave the club at the earliest opportunity, subject to Barnsley receiving compensation."

Looks like it's about to go tits up. Barnsley want a bigger fee and a sell on clause, which apparently another club have offered. I think it's Charlton and he'll end up there!!

He's shit I wouldn't worry! I'm not overly. If he signs for us then good, if he doesn't then that's fine as well. I want us to sign a mexican, with hands for feet and feet for hands ....... so Brian Howard isn't high on my wish list!!

Barnsley have accepted a bid from a mystery club for Brian Howard after also revealing they had rejected Sheffield United's offer for the player.
Tykes club captain Howard had seemed all set to move across South Yorkshire to Bramall Lane after The Blades confirmed they had agreed terms with both the player and Barnsley.
However, Barnsley have insisted no such agreement is in place and that they have now accepted a bid from another club.
Howard is set to leave Oakwell on loan until January when the deal will become permanent.
"Given the widespread reporting that the club has agreed terms with Sheffield United for the transfer of Brian Howard, it is necessary to make a statement," read a Barnsley statement.
"As at 9.00am this morning [Tuesday], the terms offered in writing by Sheffield United for the transfer of Brian were not acceptable, most particularly in terms of proposed sell-on arrangements.
"Overnight, Barnsley FC has received a further acceptable offer for Brian from another club, and as is proper, the club has reverted to his agents to obtain formally their client's instructions in relation to this opportunity."

he's overrated - we only need him cos we need a creative midfielder....... Quinn is probably better in that role...... Alan certainly was.

Did United really submit a team sheet on Tuesday with Howard's name on it? ;D I think it may have been the actions of a mischievous journo. Who then told his lazy journo mates, which then spread so quickly it ended up on the BBC website. It just goes to show that if you're a journo and you don't check your fact you can end up looking very silly!!

It was just some journo having a laugh, I think!!
