www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11673_4053240,00.html Signed in a deal which could rise to £800,000 should we get promoted. Well at least we have a left back now.

blackwell must have faith in this kyle naughton kid then...... I think Naughton had a very good pre-season. What with us having him, Geary, Halford, Naysmith and Sun Ji Hai ..... and the fact Armstrong wants to play every week. So it's just a good deal for everyone!!

Sheffield United left-back Chris Armstrong is a target for Reading. (The Sun) Mort, A2V is he any good at left back? He is solid and dependable at left back. He can tackle, but seldom puts in a rash challenge. He can also pass to players on his own side (something that we haven't been particularly good at in the recent past). He's quiet quick, but not spectacularly so, and he's versatile in that he can play left midfield as well, and Robson even played him in the centre of midfield on a few occasions. He has a pretty good shot and when played in midfield chips in with the odd goal. I am sad to see him go, but with Naysmith playing left back he wasn't going to get many games. He did suffer a very bad knee injury a few seasons ago, which was career threatening, but does not seem to have had any ill effects from it over the last couple of seasons or so.
