Two more medals in the keirin. Gold for Hoy his third in the Olympics & Edgar on the line with silver. ;D ;D Who will win sports personality of the year ? Adlington or Hoy ? Wiggins ? The team of the year. GB track cycling ? Simply magnificent. In the boxing Degale is through but Khalifa Yafai in the welterweight came unstuck against the Cuban favourite. Disappointing from the highly rated boxing team especially after the debacle over gold medal favourite Frankie Gavins return home. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/boxing/7564791.stmMedals: Gold lost count My eyes are very heavy lidded bu twell worth staying up all night. One of Britains greatest if not greatest sporting days. What pride & what great examples for kids to look up to. I hope many are inspired to folloe these sporting heroes & heroines. God Save The King has never sounded more rousing than today. Medals: Gold 7 Silver 3 Bronze 7

Chris Hoy was amazing, and is, quite frankly, my Sports Personality of the Year already. And the GB cycling team as well - sports team, surely. They shouldn't have lost to the England rugby team last year. Ross Edgar, Newmarket born, Suffolk's proud of you!

I watched the replay, and had a lump in my throat, although I think I was just so shocked at how well she swam!! I welled up when Chris Hoy won. I was so pleased for him.

The 100m final was just awesome. Shaved loads off the record and still slowed up! What a talent.

Its when they get on the podium that gets me, and they play the anthem..... oh and the athletes parents crying!!! Didn't see the cycling or the rowing, but did see Adlington win.
I think the time that got me the most was when Redgrave won his last goal and Pinsent climbed over the boat to hug him, god gets me every time!

Last ditch goal from Crista Cullen with a nicely worked field goal. Anne Panter scored a field goal early on as the women are still in the hunt after Argentina thumped Germany 4-0. Sorry for Sotherton .She tried her best to finish 5th let down by her jumps & shot put. She will be around in 2012 thank goodness. Kwakye made the womens 100m as well but Montell Douglas did not. In the long jump yet another disappointment for Chris Tomlinson failing to qualify .Greg Rutherford however made it third overall. Another golden day for Britain tomorrow .If you can it starts with Radcliffe going for an unlikely gold in the marathon but you just never know. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDKn3nl9FeY

Another super day so far & considering the number of athletes we have we are almost matching the Americans & Chinese. Rowing gold for Purchase & Hunter.Unbeaten all year & deserved champions. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/rowing/7566291.stmWomens quad sculls saldy only grabbed silver. Plenty of tears which is good to see in one way as it shows they are disappointe dby onyl coming second.Kat Grainger with a third sucessive Olympics silver. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/rowing/7566307.stmSilver for the 8s too. They let Canada pull out in the first 500 & never managed to haul them back. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/rowing/7566434.stmSwimming a 6th for David Davies in the 1500 free but he has a great chance in the openwater 10k. The womens team 4x100 medly came 4th .Spofforth had a great leg out backstroking to a european best but the team was let down by Kate Haywood who admitted as much at the end. More tears from the always emotional & rather lovely Francesca Halsall. Depsite a european record a good attitude. Fourth is not good enough. 2012 bodes extremely well for our swimmers. On the sea Ainslie as expected gold in the Finn. Hopefully Argyle Chick can catch him in 2012 along with Pastie down Weymouth way where the sailing evcents will be conducted. Quite dicey conditions but Ainslie was delighted with them. Goodison leads the 470s so another gold looks on the way. Gold for the Yngling girls as expected. Again 2012 beckons for this crew. www.youtube.com/watch?v=On the road more tears again from Radcliffe & a pitstop which this time was not covered thankfully. Had she been fit this year she had the beating of the field. Well done to Liz Yelling to who suffered a nasty fall around 10k. Both Bedford High girls who have a proud record in school athletics competing against our girls grammar competitors at the ESA meets. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/athletics/7566152.stmYamauchi made sixth. At the velodrome local girl Victoria Pendleton looks absolutely supreme in the womens individiual pursuit. Gold for certain after setting another OR. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/cycling/7566164.stmRomero beat Houvenaghel. The latter looked to have eased off in the final but Romero becomes only the second athlete in the Olympics to amongst the women to have won medals at two different disciplines. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/cycling/7565385.stmMens team pursuit also set a world record to reach the gold medal final against world silver emdallists Denmark. It would have been faster but they had to overtake the Russians on the track sosting them time. Hoy & Kenny are in the quarters of the mens sprints & look set to end up as 1 & 2 with Hoy setting an OR. The mens hockey team are out of the medal contest after struggling to a 1-1 draw with Canada. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/hockey/7566094.stm Medals: Gold 11 Silver 6 Bronze 7On target to beat the 1920 medal haul in Antwerp. This will be Team GBs best ever Olympics & great preperation for the home games in 2012.
