A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
Well, there's a very simple answer.
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
We just didn't know we were getting low.
The reason for that is purely geographical.
Our OIL is located in The North Sea
Our DIPSTICKS are located in Westminster!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D

It because of stupid people panic buying petrol when they don't need to.

It's the media fault. They have big headlines like PETROL STATIONS CLOSE BECAUSE OF STRIKES. And then in the small print or in a very quiet voice they say it's closed 100 out of 6000 petrol stations, oh and by the way shhh "there's no need to panic buy".

i used to play pool with some truckers - they're always away from home, they often have to sleep in their vans, its hardly a pleasant job, so you have to pay them well, especially as they'll alway be in demand.

There are actually more reserves of oil still in the North sea than has already been extracted. Problem is that we have sold off most of the fields to foreign (mainly US & Canadian) companies. They can sell to the rest of the world at whatever price they want.

I know - I appreciate what they do and that they are away alot, but its still alot of money compared to some other jobs!! With just as much travelling, stress and being away from home!

I reckon we should find a way to use all the sweat from fat people as fuel. That way, we'll have a never-ending supply and obesity wouldn't be a problem any more!
