So what do we think of David Davies stand against the terrorism limit? All seems like a bit of a pointless stand to me.

I fully expect the House of Lords will block this, at any rate Isn't there that Act of Parliament or something, which the House of Commons used to force through the bill banning fox hunting though? Anything to prevent that from being invoked again? good reply, can we re introduce the fox hunting topic please... I loved the last one ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'll be delighted if it causes trouble among the Tories though. Gesture politics, it may be, but it's nice to see someone making the gesture at all. This plan goes directly against habeus corpus, and is totally unnecessary - nowhere else in Europe (and possibly North America) requires it (some countries only have 4 days!), and have we had a case where the police have run out of time so far? How long 'til they start pushing for even longer periods?
