I couldn't believe it -30 points it just reinforces my view that the powers in question r too scared to slap down the big clubs wen they do wrong so they take great delight in hammering those that cant fight back. Good luck for the season Luton i'll be cheering u on

I'm hoping Luton will become a 'second team' for a lot of people this season - it'd be great if even a handful from other clubs came to just one home game this season, even in their own strips, just to show a bit of support. We might be able to get the 10pts for financial irregularities back on appeal, so tha coupled with what may be Bournemouth and Rotherham's future deductions will give us a fighting chance of at least survival - it'll be like a mini-league down at the foot of the table though

Aye i reckon u will get alot of people adopting ur club as their 2nd team even getting the 10 points back would still put the odds firmly stacked against u. To do a Keegan 'i'll love it' if u survive that'll be a great defiant gesture against the powers that be aye ;D

Doesn't surprise me Amazing, though, that - given that it was supposed to be an entirely independent panel reviewing the case - the FA were able to leak the result and reasoning to the papers last night, isn't it?

Neko can I just say that this is the biggest load of crap I've seen in a while. West Ham deliberately broke a load's of rules and were allowed to pay their way out of trouble and avoid relegation as a result. Luton's owner's mess up with finances, were relegated because of the 10 points deducted which isn't too bad at that stage, seeing as if they had been let off it would have meant unfair financial advantages. Then the new owners take over, try to sort out the mess of somebody else only to be docked another 20 points because the Inland Revenue refused their offer to come out of admin or something like that. What is even harder to understand is why the original 10 points are still being taken when they already sent you down last season.
It's just to football league showing their power, and the original owners who made Luton this mess are getting off easy whilst the fans who have shown loyalty over years will relentlessly suffer as you almost certainly slip out of the football league, and it's absolutely not on. I think the last 2 years have shown that's okay to break the rules if you have money, like West Ham, whilst if you don't have money you will be punished excessively, like Leeds and Luton.
The positive note for you is that everyone, probably even Watford fans, thinks that this is ridiculous and I expect any sort of appeal to lodge to take 10 - 20 points off which would be fair.

I expect any sort of appeal to lodge to take 10 - 20 points off which would be fair. The FL have ordered us to waive any right to appeal if we want the golden share - "Minus 20pts, take it or leave it." Frankly, that sort of thing would be considered an embarrassment even in a banana republic, but there you go

Bastards have stitched u up. Unbelievably shocking treatment of your club. Nick Owen wasn't joking when he said they'd held a gun to our heads over this. If we were a Prem/rich club, I'm sure we'd be able to threaten legal action and have the deduction mysteriously vanish - I'm sure something to that effect happened at Tottenham back when Sir Alan Sugar was in charge; threatened legal action, and the charges were dropped. They know we haven't got a leg to stand on, though, so they're throwing their weight around quite happily. Bunch of fucking bullies, the lot of 'em

Can't believe the appeal failed Neko. Absolutely gutted for you mate. It feels like yesterday that you pipped us to the League 1 title to get into the Championship. I shall certainly be adopting you as my second team this season, and I truly hope you manage to survive. It's almost as though the FL and FA don't want you in business anymore. Let's hope that even if you do go down, you fight back and become a League 1/Championship club again like you deserve to be.

Personally, I think we deserve a season in the premiership, what with being one of the founding teams! ;D (And then getting relegated that season ) It still seems amazing to me just how quickly one team's fortunes can yoyo back and forth. I know Leeds, for instance, went up and then down very quickly afterwards, but how many times have we done it, in the last ten years alone? It's like 'Roy Of The Anti-Rovers, with special guests Luton Town FC' or something!

As much of a C*nt as Ken Bates is, he was totally right about the 'independent panels' who preside over such cases. It's every club for themselves and I think anyone would struggle to find a chairperson who would help out another club just out of the kindness of their heart. Of course if it happened to them, they'd be crying bloody murder too. It's essentially blackmail - accept our conditions of having the golden share or piss off down yet another league. Cannot believe the appeal failed, obviously in our case we were found to have done little, if nothing, wrong and -30pts is just disgusting. It'll severely damage Luton, but football as well.
