Birmingham Wolves QPR Sheffield Wednesday The other two places I'm not decided upon as we don't know yet who will get promoted to this division, or who will get promoted to the premier league. And the other two will probably be Reading and Bristol City.

If we can hold on to our young players and with the right few additions reckon we might stand half a chance of finishing in the top 2. The three teams who got relegated don't exactly have players who make the rest of the division tremble in their boots.

I agree Bristol City will finish mid-table, expect another suprise package though. It could be Forest

I don't know about that, but I also don't see us going down I have confidence you'll be okay, but that's based on nowt lol as I have no idea who plays for you these days! I'm vaguely familiar with your squad of 2003/4 from Champ Manager!

I'm vaguely familiar with your squad of 2003/4 from Champ Manager! That was a half decent squad, but we still nearly got relegated the season after being in the playoffs. Must be a curse, it's happening more and more!

And the other two will probably be Reading and Bristol City. Is this for Promotion AB? Are you putting us up there to hex us? No, I'm not. I think Laws has many similar traits to Warnock and is very capable of building a side capable of getting out of the division upwards. Many times during last season your side showed a lot of backbone. Towards the end of the season almost every game seemed vital for you, but you lost very few. I do not believe we would have stood up so well in the same cicumstances. Look at how many points you gained with late goals. I have long regarded that as a good indicator of team morale and belief. Had you not got off to such an atrocious start to the season, you would have been on the edge of the play-offs. Next season I think you are very capable of going that step further.

I don't disagree about the backbone of the team. We were very good at going 1-0 down in the first 15 mins but clawing something back. My problem is with the ability of the team. There are very few players (maybe with the exception of a fit Akpo Sodje and MArk Beevers) that have any real potential to be a 'great' championship player. I have no idea how we are going to do this season. We seem to have half a good season and half a bad season but never a consistent one. Fully fit we could maybe scrape into the top 7 but I'm hedging my bets and saying we won't get relegated. Mid table mediocrity is about all my ambitions for the club will allow because of the disatrous board of directors and their inability to move the club forward.

Although ability helps, you don't need too much of it to do well in this league.
What you need is a team that plays as a team. Organistaion, backbone and a bit of tempo will get you a long way.
We were absolutely dreadful for 75% of the season and yet went into the final day with a mathematical chance of getting into the play-offs.
Even during our upturn in form under Blackwell we were still pretty poor a lot of the time. But the difference was that we were organised, looked like we wanted to get something from a game, and played poor football with tempo.
