Hopefully POG. Aside from Myhill their defence is paper thin. Priskin in for Mr.Invisible aka Nathan Ellington but I suspect Darius ' I cant take a penalty' Henderson will bein. Can there have ever been a worse buy in the history of football ? Nathan Ellington that is. Play for Bosnia ? He has more chance of playing for Bromsgrove Rovers. Is he that bad, seemed half decent once upon a time. Do you reckon it would be for the best to regroup this season and come better prepared for a promotion push next season. Your dip in form this season, just outlines you're not ready yet.

To be honest POG considering how weak the division is this year & when we were NINE points clear its a real letdown. We were not playing well but there it is. I'm sure GB will agree as we have plenty of financial problems again it seems a delayed redevelopment of the East Stand once more & many players on big contracts . I'm pretty sure Shittu & Demerit will be leavig & there will be a mass clearout. The time is pivotal. It could well be we might never get another chance to go up. When you consider Derby are coming down with new finances behind them , Reading with an excellent academy & Birmingham with their board who will put money in this time & Swansea an excellent footballing side & Nottingham Forest with their fanbase & funds, plus Leeds look an excellent bet to come up, it will be much, much harder to even get a playoff spot next year let alone automatic promotion. I fear we've missed the boat & it makes it all the more galling as we we were ready at one point o cast the rest of the division adrift on the jetty so to speak. Regroup ? For what ? I fear the board has no ambition, All they spout is we're punching above our weight. But so did Chievo in Italy & the likes of Alkmaar in Holland & Auxerre in France. They sold the likes of Bouazza & car thief instead of building ahead. No offence to AB but I would like John Collins in or the Scottish chapthat Derby let go unless AB is prepared to let someone advise him for a change maybe even Graham Taylor ? Surprised to see you let Darren Ward one of our Academy products released & would not be surprised to see him end up back at the Vic. Whether thats a blessing I'm not sure as he does have a tendency to cockup at crucial moments.

Well done Boothroyd for getting us to play properly.... but it's too little too late.
Why couldn't he have had the players playing like this four months ago??
Using that system early on, we would have been up via the auto's imo.
The early goal being disallowed - we all know it should've been given. However, that should of drove us on to get another.
The sending off, a joke, just like the ref. But you can't keep moaning about referees when at the end of the day it's the team that should be doing better.
As much as I love Shittu, and as much as his attacking prowess is amazing, his defending is costing us, had Jay been in from the start I doubt we'd have conceded either goal today. He went off with an injury and not sure if he'll be fit for Wednesday..
Myhill was out of this world.
Well done Alex though, you were jammy today mate. Myhill had a stormer and a couple defensive lapses on our part cost us big time. Had we had more of a cutting edge we would have done you imo.
An early goal at the KC and you could be flapping.

I guess the financial rewards that comes with Premier league status at the moment, even makes a one season visit appealing. Not sure if Derby fans would agree though. Selling your best players is really frustrating, watching Lescott, Naylor and Keane doing so well, really makes us wonder, what could have been. Darren Ward, not surprised to be honest, was never gonna hold down a regular spot and cocking up at crucial times, we've got enough of them in our squad at the moment.

Agreed GB .Not to sound too cocky but lots of fans were suggesting he change the formation at home some months ago to change our fortunes. We had that cutting thrust & aside from comedy defending for number one who knows. I have to disagree about the canuting referee. I'd love to knock him out. Had we gone one up you could feel a palpable sense of confidence if fragile in the team & I reckon we would have gone onto win. Hope we get a deserved early goal at the KC & who knows. They are pretty mediocre aside from Campbell & Myhill.

Without wanting to cause arguments, we aren't a mediocre side. Our league position shows this, amongst other things. I can't remember who said it, but we played the game like an away game, and it worked, as we came away with the 'three points'. The 3-0 drubbing we gave you at the KC wasn't just a one-off.
I'll happily admit the goal you had disallowed was a bad decision, and Eustace's 'challenge' or whatever it was, wasn't a red card, but you win some, you lose some, on decisions like those. When we played QPR a while ago, the linesman allowed a goal which clearly was not over the line. The decisions generally even themselves out over the course of the season. So all i can say on that note is tough luck.
We both had chances to increase our tally, our final ball was non-existant and finishing poor, and Myhill pulled off some of his usual superb saves.

I take back my kindness to Mr Friend, we got shafted by him today, utter C*nt. Phil Brown has no class. I have no beef with Hull, but there is such a thing as winning and winning with style, and they have none. Also, black suit with brown shoes... Would love to get a result on Weds, but I feel it's unlikely as not only is Eustace out as there's no time for an appeal - but when we do actually score - it's likely to be disallowed.

I've said on other threads we don't deserve to go up on this seasons display, doesn't mean we don't need to though! I've never been a great fan of Watford but I did enjoy the season 2 years ago when we were having some good friendly banter whilst battling to get promotion with Reading and the Blunts. Although it ended sourly for us, I was pleased for the likes of yourself and those connected with Watford because you could see what the achievement meant to them. I prefer Hull though as they finished 3rd, generally play the better footy and I think there is more scope for them to grow in the PL than Watford at this moment in time. They are a club on the up progressing all the time, where as you guys have been stop start and a bit like a seesaw. You've had a couple of cracks at the Prem and being honest, not impressed me. If you can play positive football with a bigger and better squad next season, it might be worth the wait for a year!

If you can play positive football with a bigger and better squad next season, it might be worth the wait for a year! I'd be surprised if we'd impressed anyone during our two attempts at staying up in the prem mate! ;D We ain't a Prem club really, thats a fact. Since Aidy took us up v you lot - a lot of our fans began to get ideas above their station, thinking it was possible to do what he said and claim a top ten finish within 5 years, now that was mostly to do with Aidy's talk so you have to bear that in mind, but the real Watford fans know that ain't us. We're a Championship club at best, it's our level. Your point about waiting till next year - whilst I agree with you as I think this squad is not as strong as the '06 one - it's our chance now and we should try our best whilst the chance is still there! For us, our best hope is to emulate Albion imo, boing boing it and get that money to better our squad year in year out. Failing in the playoffs could bring big repercussions for us

Will be crazy if it's Bristol vs Hull in the final! Can see both of those sides getting fewer points than Derby's dismal effort this year.
