Is Boris Johnson really actually now responsible for something or is it just a sick joke? Another national embarrassment shoots to prominence... I don't think Boris himself will be responsible for much - I forsee this being a Bush-esque leadership, where the men behind the curtain hold the true power (Cheney, anyone?). The trouble now is, while the anti-Ken mob have got their wish and got shot of Ken, do they actually know who they've voted in? As for 'another national embarrassment'; am I right in thinking you're not a fan of Gordie Brown?

Quite liked one remark in the Express today...
"London has voted for a move away from gesture politics to jester politics."
;D

I have no faith in the New Labour machine either, albeit for quite different reasons to some on here. I think I put on a different thread that I am more likely to vote Labour now than in the last 7 years, such is my concern that the Tory spectre might become a reality. My friend from the US just doesn't get it, but having lived through the Thatcher years I can never, ever vote for any organisation that carries that being's portrait upon their wall. Boris Johnson is her spawn in my opinion... and I actually liked Livingstone...

I had hoped Brian Paddick would get in, but infinitely preferred Ken to that tory idiot. Lets look forward to him pissing away the budget on magic beans (but it's alright, because he's got wacky hair).

I've just sat in a pub with the biggest raving Thatcherite Tory I know and even he is appalled that Boris Johnstone got this. He seemed genuinely embarrassed...
