I can't help but wonder whether that was extremists or something more... how to word it... 'government-sponsored' Musharraf is hardly known for playing by the rules, after all Must admit, if I lived there I'd be thinking about how to get out as soon as possible

All down to Al-Qaeda & the tribes in the northwest . Its a screwed up country that unfortunately has nuclear weapons kindly provided by China. Pity in a way that India pulled out when they did in 64 before they acquired a nuclear capability. War on terror ? The Pakistani secret services & military have been sponsoring & training militants to carry out attacks in India for a decade or more. When the Americans launched their strikes on Afhghanistan in 2001 who pulled out first ? Pakistani generals fleeing on the road back from Kabul. And who do the mad Americans decide to get in bed with ? Not India as an ally but these mad idiots. Most of the money that has gone to Pakistan has ended up in Swiss bank accounts. Yet the fools & here want to fund them further & pay Afghans not to grow opium. Zero tolerance. Raze the fields by whatever means necessary not pay them bribes. Bribery does not work. In Roman times as the Western empire rotted they decided to pay off the Germanic & Iranian tribes with gold subsidies but they kept threatening more incursions unless the subsidy was raised. Same thing will happen here. Lets just hope the nutters dont get their hands on the nukes. Shame about Bhutto . But thats what you get for apparently siding with the Americans & being everything that Al-Qaeda detests. A woman with power who believes in secularism & modernity unlike what is written in the Qu'ran .

Not to sure about that mate, i think the Military leader Musharraf has got something to do with this, i think she would have walked the elections in January, his position was under threat.

They are now claiming that Al Qaeda are involved.
Her funeral is today, god praying she'll rest in peace.

They would have to say al qaeda is responsible...to me it's an internal thing. I had the privelege to meet this fantastic lady in the mid 80's whilst in the RAF. She would have walked the elections in Jan. A sad loss and there could be repercussions globally.

Make lots of tutting noises and shake their heads disapprovingly, is my suspicion... Quite, when infact this is far worse than anything Saddam really did, but because the Americans are in bed with them there will be no action! Little wonder the muslim community despises the west, when our leaders adopt these double standards

To be honest I see both sides of this, I have friends from both sides (there are a lot of pakistanis in Rochdale, from both sides of this) and I personally thought that Mrs. Bhutto could have brought some much needed reforms to Pakistan.
I agree that she is a great loss to the world at large. And I'm almost certain it'll turn out to have been an inside job!

What to kill someone because you're going to loose an election, I'm sure Tony Blair would have adopted such tactics if he thought he'd have got away with it.

The clown got away with too much already.
Should be hung from London Bridge as a traitor to this country with the human rights hagling Cherie (I demand ten grand for speaking at charity dinners) Booth.
