Why didn't you keep that currant kit from last season? It's better than the normal one.

Because a butt-load of fans will buy the new strip to help pay for the new ground?

Well, redcurrant was only slated as a one-off special, but (unlike many teams would have done) Arsenal kept the same away kit for two seasons (2005/6-2006/7) to compensate for the cost of the new strip. Personally although I liked the 'specialness' of the redcurrant strip, it's good to see our boys back in red 'n' white. Apparently the next home strip is set to end the 'retro' nature of the current strip and feature a more futuristic design, so that could be interesting.

I like Arsenals kit season, it's quite retro. Liverpool's is too this year, reminds me of the ones they played in back in the 90's.

Seems pointless, as the last one was a 1 year kit, its same with Man Utd, I think theirs is for a year but its a special edition one, then after they will have one for 2 year, so they aren't ripping the fans off as much

Actually I think the current 'Fly Emirates' is a two year job, seeing as (Trainspotting gear at the ready) Section 6.1 of the Arsenal Club Charter (this is all true but I am being a bit tongue in cheek with the anal retentiveness) states:
"All replica strip designs have a minimum lifespan of two seasons. A new change kit will be released every year, whereby it will be the first choice change strip in year one of the lifespan and the second choice change strip in year two. In the event of a change of Club sponsor, the new sponsor’s name may appear on a replica strip within its lifespan.
NB For season 2005/2006, a one-off commemorative ‘redcurrant’ coloured replica strip was used to commemorate the last playing season at Highbury.
The strip was used for one full season only. As a direct result of this, the Club reversed the trend for 2005/2006 away strip, which will be the first choice away strip through to the end of season 2006/2007. "

Cheers Hulsey, just trying to do my bit...
We had 3 new kits last season, 1 of them was for the teams which clashed with both home and away kits, but this season we get a new home shirt! Don't get me wrong its better than the last one, but it means next season there will be a new away kit, and maybe a 3rd. I don't even bother with them

Actually, though - My dream kit (away) for Arsenal would be completely white, with Badges and Sponsors in silver thread and the names on the back in Calligraphy style silver italics. Or maybe that's just the Lawrence Llewelln Bowen coming out there...

I hate it, seen someone on holiday wearing it, thought it was a new Forest shirt with the CapitalOne on it!

So a minimum of two seasons is a good call

It's all the boards fault and everything, we signed a 3 year deal with Joma, so it meant one season we would have to have a shirt, then change it and have one for 2 seasons, making more money but its exactly the same with sponsers, the agree an odd number of years so they have to make more shirts to cover that period of time, so say it was 5 year deal, that would be in 4 years there owuld be 2 different shirts, then a season with one different one or am I babbling on a bit.... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)
