Seeing as it's their big meet up this weekend, who do you think will win the title?
Might sound strange coming from a Leeds fan, but I hope both think AND hope Man U win it. More entertaining than Chelsea, haven't bought their way to success in quite the same way as Chelsea have and I have a begrudging respect for them.

But I must make one comment. no club has spent more money in the transfer market in the last 20 years than Man.Utd. I.E. money and a good manager = success

Understand what you mean RJ, but Man U have spread the cost over the years as opposed to Chelsea blitzing the market in the past 2 years

I don't really have any strong feelings for or against either of them.
Both play very good football, but on the evidence of the games I have seen at Bramall Lane against each club, I would say that Manchester United were the noticeably better of the two sides. Their passing and movement was quite something and despite the early goal we were really played off the park, whereas although Chelsea were always in control, we were in the game against them far more. However, I would qualify this by saying that Chelsea did what they had to do and no more. They may well have been capable of upping their game in the unlikely event of that becoming necessary.

Understand what you mean RJ, but Man U have spread the cost over the years as opposed to Chelsea blitzing the market in the past 2 years Still doesn't hide the fact that the teams spending the most money are having the most success. Blackburn were crucified in 1995 for 'buying' the title. Thats what makes the top of the prem as dull as dishwater. Because in reality only 3/4 clubs can win it. The football on the park may be good but 16/17 managers are fighting for 2/3 European places. The bottom end is where the interest is.

The football on the park may be good but 16/17 managers are fighting for 2/3 European places. The bottom end is where the interest is. Without doubt, the teams at the top of the premiership may be playing excellent football, but you are right, it is a dull competition and has been heading that way for some time. In the 20 year period from 1960-1 season up until 1980-1 season some 11 clubs won the championship: Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich Town, Everton. Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Leeds United, Arsenal, Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. In the quarter of a century since then, only 6 clubs have won the championship: Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea. And this reduces to only 4 clubs having won it since it became the premiership and of those only 3 have won it more than once. What is apparent is that in the not too distant past, mid-sized clubs stood a chance of competing. Now they stand no chance at all. Although I don't want to return there, I think the championship is a much more competitive league and almost every year at least one of the smaller clubs comes through as a surprise package. The football may not be to such a high technical standard, but all the clubs stand a realistic chance of beating each other. After seeing us against Chelsea and Manchester United I'm not sure when we'll be capable of pulling off a win against either of them.

Completely agree with all that AB Although I made a bit of a glaring error when totting up the number of clubs who've won the championship since 1981. I missed out Leeds United! The number should be 7. I do apologise!
