Exaltations to Hurlock for (yet again) posting good sense to these message boards! His point about "fringe" players is worth noting. Everyone's clamouring for Beckham yet he's not even getting into the starting 11 at Madrid under Capello. The uncomfortable truth (to my whisky-addled mind) is that while our footballers have never enjoyed such wealth, celebrity or public acclaim, they're actually no better than they were in the late '70's/early '80's when no b*gger (except for an unholy alliance of speccy obsessives, old men and psychopathic hoolies) wanted to know.... Cheers mate, have one back

Just for once I'm glad not to have Sky Sports, but evern if I had I'm not sure that I would have watched this one, the writing was on the wall to be honest and though I would have loved to been there to shout the lads on but I find it so fucking frustrating watching us play shit on telly, screaming at the telly just doesn't have the same feel to it.
And as for Paul Bobbleson, he should come and play on some of the pitches I have played on over the last 20 years then he'll what a fucking divot looks like.

Well least we didn't get a spanking like the taffs did against some made up country last week but we should of least had one goal if not more shots on target.
drop Rooney and get Defoe on

*Why are we picking players who are clearly out of form. Surely England selection is a reward for good performances for your club side. At the moment too many players are having off days, as there's no competition as the England side picks itslef and is closed shop!!* *Why do we pick Lampard, I can't remember a good game he had for England. People say he's a good goalscoring midfielded, but if you look at the stats, his goals scored to shot ration is crap. He shoots to much often wasting good attacking opportunites* *Why did we give the job to McLaren, he's out of his depth*

Shame, he was "fairly good" at one point, but that point is long ago! Wales have always had good strikers, wingers etc for as long as I can remember... the defence has always been a bit leaky though. anywho... <whistles cheery tune>
