Spot on HGO! Best kids programme of its era and genre. My favourite one was when he went into the changing rooms and walked out the other door without putting a costume on. Straight into a full blown orgy. Tits and fannies everywhere Or did I imagine that??

Now that was quality!
My everlasting memories from that were
"Did Zeberdee wear a box - else it'd wreck his balls with all that bouncing around" AND
"Who was giving Florence one"

Interesting fact for you. Did you know that the guy that did all the narration and voices for Mr Benn, (Ray Brooks) now plays Pauline Fowler's husband Joe in Eastenders!

Yes! Also played Robbie Box in a BBC series about a gambler - something Deal??? Big Deal it was called. It was one of my favourite shows of the 80s, I loved it. May be wrong but didn't he sing the theme tune to the programme too, (in a Dennis Waterman type fashion!)

No probs Ro. If you remember his step daughter in Big Deal, she plays Polly in The Bill Big Deal is one of those show's I occassionally look to see if it's been released on DVD yet, (it hasn't still, but there is a petition for it to be released on DVD on the net.) I'd love to see the series again, it was very good. Dark and gritty, while still being light and comical in places.

The fact Ray Brookes is now larging it again for the BBC on their 'flagship' show; the people in the beeb are probably thinking "Let's hit 'em again with "Big Deal" - and cash in Ray Brooke's new found fame"
