An excellent post from a Watford forum that sums up how I feel about this: A surprisingly intelligent and articulate post - he must've moved out of Hertfordshire at a young age I should think the only people pleased to see this will be Grimsby fans, since it's one less team/relegation spot for them to worry about. I'd like to think that even they will consider it a hollow victory, but that's not the vibe I've gotten from BBC 606 these last couple of weeks. I'm sure that, if roles were reversed, I'd feel exactly the same as in the above post. The only consolation I can draw from this relegation is to look at the likes of Hull and Darlington, and to consider how, with a decent board finally in control of the club, that could be us in the near future. I doubt we'll walk the conference; it'll be a tough division, and we're sure to lose a few players over summer. If we can keep Craddock, that'll be a huge boost - he's got the talent to score goals for fun down there - but really, it'll be a hell of a slog either way. There are rumours (albeit very weak ones) that Hardford's gonna resign and Gus Poyet's lined up to come in. Make no mistake, if Harford were to go, I'm sure Poyet would make an excellent manager (look at the difference he made at Tottenham and Leeds!), but I'd like to see Mick stay on. He'll still be learning, but this'll be the first time he'll ever be in charge of a team without any transfer restrictions, administration, deductions etc to worry about - I think the man deserves it if only for his dedication. He's done well enough this season to convince me he warrants a second year!
